School Closure Due to COVID-19

Dear All,

We are sorry to have closed school two weeks earlier than planned. However, we managed to test the children for end of term and reports will be ready for collection starting from Monday, 6th April 2020. It has not been an easy term due to security and health threats arising from gassing incidents and COVID-19 (Corona Virus).

We have intensified security measures in the school which includes investing in CCTV and reducing the number of people reaching the learning area. We ask of you to always inform the school of any changes in transport arrangements for your children and to pick them from school as soon as school is over.

Major events in Term One:

Six children ably represented the school at the International Day of Children’s Broadcasting. Thanks to Charis Ndhlovu (G6), George Shanabwato (G6), Bongani Chanda (G6), Frank Mukwilima (G7), Thokodzile Chimbo (G7) and Ashley Mubenga (G7).
Spelling competition at school – Congratulations to Sera Mukupa (G3) and Kondwani Sakala (G6) for respectively winning the lower and upper primary spelling competition.
Quiz competition was won by G7. Congratulations to Charis Ndhlovu (G6) and Nelly Nyoni (G7) for being elected best participants at the event.

2019 Grade 7 Results: The following was the performance in descending order: 833-803 points; 2 candidates, 794-701 points; 20 candidates, 693-633 points; 4 candidates, 604 points; 1 candidate. Our aim is to have every candidate scoring above 700 points.

P.E. Attire: Kindly ensure that children are dressed in correct P.E. ATTIRE on Fridays. Thus, plain white top and plain white shorts or alternatively, maroon tracksuit with a plain white T-Shirt underneath.

EXAMINATION IDENTITY BADGE: All Grade 7 Pupils are required to pay K50 at the start of the next term, for an examination ID Badge.

PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES: You are all encouraged to deposit the fees during the holodays in the school account held at FNB Chipata: ACCOUNT NUMBER 6262 1949 752. ONLY CHILDREN WHOSE FEES WILL HAVE BEEN PAID SHALL BE ALLOWED IN CLASS

HEALTH TIP: Encourage and constantly remind the children to wash their hands regularly with soap. Also remind them to avoid handshakes.

OPENING TERM: ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL, TERM TWO (2) 2020 WILL START ON WEDNESDAY 6TH MAY 2020 AND END ON 31ST JULY 2020. We will certainly make up for the lost two weeks. If you are taking your children on transfer, kindly let us know during the holidays.
